East Kilbride's Spyres and Declan Welsh will take to the TRNSMT stage this year
Both bands were included as part of the festivals huge lineup announcement
by Gregor Farquharson, https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/authors/gregor-farquharson/Two East Kilbride bands are looking to impress this summer at Scotland's biggest festival.
Indie group's Spyres and Declan Welsh and the Decadent West were both announced to play the festival this morning.
Both acts will play on the Saturday in Glasgow Green, with Spyres playing the brand new 'River' stage and Declan Welsh is sub-headlining the King Tuts stage, playing before American rock powerhouse Jimmy Eat World.
The bands will be playing alongside the likes of headliner Liam Gallagher, Glasgow band Twin Atlantic and top UK grime artist AJ Tracey.
Both acts have already been making names for themselves across the Glasgow music scene.
Declan played to to a sold out St Luke's in Glasgow last year, and has already shifted plenty of tickets for his massive headliner in May at SWG3.
On top of that, his debut album "Cheaply Bought, Expensively Sold" has been blowing up on streaming services since it's release in October last year.
Young group Spyres are all aged between 16 and 18, but have already released two amazing singles in 'Otherside' and 'Fake ID' and played alongside huge names, such as The Snuts.
This will be the fourth ever TRNSMT, after it took the reigns as the biggest festival in Scotland following the cancellation of T In The Park in 2016.
