INEC declares PDP’s Duoye Diri winner of Bayelsa Governorship election

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared PDP candidate, Duoye Diri, as the winner of the Bayelsa governorship election.
The chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu made this announcement while addressing the media at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
This comes following the judgement of the of the Supreme Court on Thursday, February 13, 2020 which sacked APC candidates, David Lyon, from the Bayelsa state governorship election leading to Duoye Diri being announced the winner.
David Lyn was the governor-elect with the total number of vote cast at 146,999 and the candidate of the PDP, Duoye Diri scored 143,172 with geographical spread.
