New luxury 60-bed care home now open in Derbyshire

Heanor Park, a purpose-built, luxury care home overlooking Heanor Memorial Park has welcomed the first residents into their new home which includes luxury, assisted living suites, the first of its kind in the area.

The suites allow residents to live independently in a secure environment, with bills, meals, drinks and laundry all included, as well as the ability to add care packages as and when required.

The apartments have a kitchenette, built-in wardrobes, large wet rooms, storage cupboards and a communal area with sofas, TV and dining facilities.

Heanor Park also has four other individual households for residential and specialist dementia care, all available for long, short or daycare.

The building is the first of its kind in the country to make use of some of the latest developments in technology; boasting circadian lighting to replicate natural changes in daylight throughout the day to help regulate sleeping patterns.

The latest in acoustic nurse call systems so that help can be summoned anywhere in the building just by calling out, as well as a state-of-the-art relaxation spa.

Heanor Park, based just off Ilkeston Road with uninterrupted views of Heanor Memorial Park, is Ashmere Derbyshire’s newest home and invested £7m into building it.

David Poxton, Managing Director of Ashmere Derbyshire said: “It has been an absolute pleasure seeing this home from the blueprints to the final building.

“This home is a culmination of everything we have learnt in the last 35 years and all the different ideas we have been trialling whilst refurbishing our existing homes.”

The home also has spa, convenience shop, library, cinema room and hairdressing salon.
