Adios, X-Class! Tuner unveils 'Final Edition' versions of Benz's bakkie

Carlex Design has taken the wraps off two new “Final Edition” versions of the X-Class to say farewell to Mercedes-Benz’s double-cab bakkie.
Early in February 2020, the Stuttgart-based automaker confirmed production of the X-Class bakkie – which is based on Nissan’s Navara and described by Mercedes as a “niche product” – would come to an end in May.
The folks over at Carlex Design (and its subsidiary, Pickup Design) have created a number of packages for the X-Class since its reveal in mid-2017. And now there are two new kits: the Off-Road Final Edition and the Extreme Final Edition. We're guessing each can be applied to both the four-cylinder and V6 models.
The Off-Road Final Edition is finished in red and features a number of bodywork modifications. The Extreme Final Edition, meanwhile, is similar but painted in a dark hue and appears to have had a suspension lift kit fitted along with different tyres.
In addition, the Polish tuner has thoroughly updated the cabin, adding swathes of leather (in either red or black), plenty of carbon-fibre trim and new instrument cluster dials. In addition, a handful of “Final Edition” logos have been scattered around the cabin, including on the side-sill plates.
Carlex Design has yet to reveal pricing for the Final Edition versions of the out-to-pasture X-Class...
