Ziyech breaks silence after Chelsea transfer confirmed for summer

by

Hakim Ziyech has broken his silence over his move to Chelsea after speaking out on social media.

The Morocco international was made a top target by Frank Lampard in January but a deal could not be pulled off.

Ajax insisted that their main man would not be leaving at a time when they are in three competitions.

But a deal has been agreed and reports claim that a fee of around £38m has been signed off by Chelsea chiefs.

It will be Lampard's first signing as Blues boss but the move will not go through until the summer, with the transfer window closed.

Chelsea moved in to secure the transfer soon after the January window shut.

Ziyech's manager Erik ten Hag admitted a deal had been concluded earlier this week before the Blues even announced that a transfer was agreed.

Several of his team-mates also chimed in such as Andre Onana and Donny van de Beek.

And now the 26-year-old has spoke out, claiming that his business at Ajax is not over yet.

He said on Instagram: “Happy to be fit again so I can enjoy these last months on the pitch, where I belong.

“Received a lot of warm and positive messages during my absence and I hope to create just a few more beautiful memories than we already have.

“Very happy with my next step, but first I have some unfinished business to handle."

Lampard has yet to speak out but he must be over the moon after making him a top target this season.

The Dutch-born star tore Chelsea apart at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League in an entertaining 4-4 draw.

He grabbed three assists, including a comical own goal that rebounded off the post to hit Kepa Arrizabalaga and go in.

This season, Ziyech has been in fine form, scoring eight goals and grabbing 21 assists on the way too.

It earmarks an era of spending in west London, with Lampard granted £150m to spend in the summer with raids planned for Jadon Sancho, Moussa Dembele and Boubakary Soumare.
