Billie Eilish song lets slip new secrets about James Bond film No Time To Die

by

The release of the new James Bond song has already generated many reactions.

The title track for No Time To Die by Grammy Award-winning artist and 18-year-old pop sensation Billie Eilish has now been released to millions of listens already.

The song was written by Billie and her brother Finneas, who also produced the track with Stephen Lipson.

Orchestral arrangements were done by composer Hans Zimmer who is also scoring the film, while Johnny Marr provided the lead guitar.

The moody track has also given us some insight into the upcoming film's plot too when examining the lyrics alongside what we already know of the plot from trailer footage.

The chorus states "That I'd fallen for a lie

"You were never on my side

"Fool me once, fool me twice

"Are you death or paradise?

"Now you'll never see me cry

"There's just no time to die. "

Given all we have seen from trailers and footage so far, the song is clearly from the point of view of Daniel Craig's James Bond as he struggles with what he perceives as an apparent betrayal by his lover Dr Madeleine Swann ( Lea Seydoux).

The teaser trailer for the song that was released online also focused on the couple as they enjoy a blissful life in Matera, Italy, before her deadly "secret" finds its way out.

We hear the ominous warnings from James' arch-nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld ( Christoph Waltz) that her betrayal "will be the death" of Bond:

"I let it burn
"You're no longer my concern,
"Faces from my past return
"Another lesson yet to learn...'

It's clear that 007 will have to reckon with his own past to discover the truth behind Madeleine's too, but will there be a happy ending for the pair?

He's been "burned" once before by tragic love Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) in Casino Royale, but is he really right to turn his back on Madeleine?

It looks like the new outing is going to delve deep into Bond's trust issues.

The trailers tease that she has a secret in her past connected to Rami Malek's masked villain Safin. But what happened to her?

Not too long to find out!

No Time To Die is released in cinemas on April 2, 2020.
