Report: Arsenal expecting offers for Aubameyang, Lacazette and Leno

by

Arsenal are reportedly bracing themselves for some transfer offers for some of their top stars this summer.

According to The Daily Mirror, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to leave the club, but the Gunners are also expecting to receive offers for goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Alexandre Lacazette.

It has often been reported the Gabon international is keen to play Champions League football again, and with Arsenal currently languishing in 10th, there’s a strong chance he won’t get that at the Emirates next season.

Come the summer, he’ll only have a year remaining on his contract, so it could mean he’ll leave.

In addition to Aubameyang, Arsenal are expecting to receive offers for Lacazette and Leno, who has proven to be a solid purchase.

The German stopper, who cost a reported £19 million (BBC Sport), is a popular figure at the Emirates and would arguably be just as big a loss to the club as the two talismanic attackers.

The 27-year-old has regularly drawn praise during his spell at the club, despite general struggles in keeping a clean sheet.

TBR’s view – Losing Leno would be a major Arsenal blow

Arsenal must try and retain Leno this summer as he has proven to be one of very few solid Arsenal signings in recent years.

The star has made 198 saves so far in the Premier League this term, which is almost eight per match.

Maybe that says more about Arsenal’s defence than it does about Leno, but he is the one who still has to make those saves.

He may not be as good with the ball at his feet as an Ederson, but Leno’s shot-stopping is unquestionable, and he’d be very difficult to replace.
