Bayelsa: PDP members, Diri's supporters storm INEC office in Abuja
- There is tension among members of the PDP in Abuja over the Supreme Court's ruling on Bayelsa
- Members of the party are said to be at INEC's office awaiting the issuance of the certificate of return to Duoye Diri
- However, security officials have barred Diri from entering the office of the commission for the certificate
In anticipation of the issuance of the certificate of return, members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and supporters of Duoye Diri, have stormed the Abuja office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to Nigerian Tribune, members of the PDP who were in front of the office were allowed into the building for a closed-door meeting with top officials and commissioners of INEC.
However, Senator Duoye Diri, the PDP candidate of the last Bayelsa governorship election, was prevented by security officers from entering the office.
Diri was later asked by an official of INEC to stay away from the building until after the meeting.
