Youngster hopes to ‘regain football happiness’ at another club after leaving Manchester United
by Naveen UllalManchester United released youngster Millen Baars at the end of last season.
The 19-year-old left Ajax and signed for the Red Devils’ academy in 2017 and was initially part of the English club’s U18 team.
During the last campaign, Baars was included in United’s U23 side, but the teenager didn’t get regular opportunities. Therefore, he left the Old Trafford side without featuring for their first team.
Since leaving the Premier League giants, the young winger was without a club before joining AZ Alkmaar this month.
Voetbal International claims the attacker had a trial with AZ’s reserve team, Jong AZ, and during the trial, Baars was able to convince the Dutch club’s technical leaders.
According to the report, Baars will finish the season with Alkmaar’s reserve team. It’s claimed the player hopes to ‘regain football happiness’ after leaving United and put himself back in the spotlight.
It remains to be seen whether or not Baars will be successful in achieving happiness with AZ Alkmaar.
