Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin’s baby girl Sappho is here to steal your heart this Valentine’s day.
The proud mommy shared a first glimpse of her daughter as she lay happily on her daddy’s chest. Although the actress shared multiple images of her little cutie, this happens to be the first time that we get a good look at her adorable face.
“My Guy and my girl. Not much of a Hallmark consumer, but this Valentine's I'm feeling particularly gushy, for obvious reasons,” Kalki captioned the click.
The photo that is just too cute for words, sees Sappo smiling away as she lay on her father’s chest, swaddled in her blanket.
KalkiMy Guy and my girl. Not much of a Hallmark consumer, but this Valentine's I'm feeling particularly gushy, for obvious reasons😍 @guyhershberg I couldn't ask for more, you are always more... #valentineseveryday #marvelous #bestpartnerever
Kalki and Guy became parents exactly a week ago, on February 7, when they welcomed their baby girl who they have named after a famous Greek poet. The actress opted for a natural water birth and in a series of Instagram posts, shared photos and her experience going through almost 17 hours of labour.
Formally introducing her first child, Kalki said in an Instagram post, “Please welcome Sappho. Born 07/02/20. She just spent 9 months wrapped up like a momo in my uterus. Let's give her some space Thank you for all the good wishes and positive energy pouring in. And respect to all the women who go through the intense and gruesome experience of birth, be it vaginal or c section, so many of whom are not given credit or support for the biggest challenges they face, but are expected to do it out of some kind of duty. The process takes a huge toll both psychological and physical and should have the backing of an entire community to truly heal.”
KalkiSo thankful to the whole team at Tulip Women's Care and to my to doctors @docsheetalsabharwal and @drrvpunjabi who simply refused to give up on me even when after 17 hours I was so tired I begged them to take the baby out anyway they could and they said no, you've come this far and you're going to have your natural waterbirth, and an hour later Sappho was born. You guys are miracle workers! 💞🌼 #nevergiveup
Through her pregnancy, Kalki has been receiving applause for her rather refreshing take on birthing and pregnancy. All through the nine months, she had been vocal about her decision to have water birth and also talked about the same.
