Help oversee public facilities district

The Snohomish County Public Facilities District needs qualified candidates for two positions on the board of directors.

The district was chartered by Snohomish County to oversee potential acquisition, construction, operation and financing of one or more regional centers and related parking.

Projects include the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Edmonds Center for the Arts, Lynnwood Convention Center and the Future of Flight.

Five members appointed by the Snohomish County Council comprise the board of directors. Board members serve four-year terms.

The newly appointed members begin their first term April 16, or on a continuing basis until all open positions are filled.

No fees in national parks on Monday

The U.S. Forest Service will waive fees at day-use recreation sites in Oregon and Washington on Monday in honor of Presidents Day.

The fee waiver includes many trailheads, picnic areas, boat launches and visitor centers.

Fees for camping, cabin rentals, heritage expeditions or other permits still apply. Fees will continue to be charged at recreation sites operated by concessionaires unless the individual manager chooses to participate.

Lynnwood walking, bicycling and rolling survey

The city of Lynnwood wants to hear how you get around town.

As part of the Connect Lynnwood initiative, the city is rolling out a survey asking residents how they use streets, paths and trails.

Answers will influence how leaders shape access to parks, connect bike paths and improve street safety.

You can find the survey on the city’s website, www.lynnwoodwa.gov, under the Connect Lynnwood tab.

The survey takes about 15 minutes. It’s available until March 27.

HEADS UP

Seattle Dragons Sounder trains

Sound Transit will run Sounder trains for the Seattle Dragons home opener Saturday at CenturyLink Field.

The game kicks off at 2 p.m. The train leaves Everett Station at 11:45 a.m. with stops in Mukilteo and Edmonds.

Return trains leave King Street Station 35 minutes after the game.
