National Lottery reveals shop in Castlebar, Co Mayo which sold winning €17million EuroMillions jackpot ticket

Lotto bosses have revealed that Tuesday's winning EuroMillions jackpot ticket was sold in Castlebar, Co Mayo.

One Irish punter - who has yet to come forward - scooped in €17million to prize after buying their ticket at Mulroy’s Londis.

It's the town's third EuroMillions jackpot winner, following monster wins in 2014 and 2017.

Staff and customers will be celebrating the massive windfall at the store - which bags €25,000 itself - throughout Friday.

A spokesman said: "Incredibly, this is the third EuroMillions jackpot win in Castlebar. With a population of 12,000 people, surely Castlebar is Europe’s luckiest town!

"The store, which will be formally announced at 12.00pm today, sold the ticket for the 15 EuroMillions jackpot winner in Ireland since the game began in 2004.

"The first Castlebar EuroMillions jackpot was won in April 2014 when a prize worth €15 million was claimed on a ticket sold in Castlebar, Co. Mayo .

" Three years later Mayo got its second winner, again in Castlebar, when a syndicate from the west of Ireland won €29 million in July 2017 This ticket was sold at Garryduff XL Store, of Pound Road, Castlebar."

The winning numbers were 24, 26, 32, 43, 46 and the Lucky Star numbers were 06 and 10.
