Getafe coach Bordalás: I have faith that Angel will stay with us

Pepe Bordalas' Getafe have the revelation of the La Liga season so far. They sit third in the table, just seven points back from Barcelona, who they face at Camp Nou on Saturday.

Ahead of the game, Bordalas and striker Jorge Molina have spoken to Marca, in which, among other things, they touch on striker Angel Rodriguez's future.

The versatile frontman has been linked with a move to Barca as the Catalan club hope to be given special permission to sign a forward outside the transfer window to replace the injured Ousmane Dembele.

"Getafe would lose a lot without Angel," Bordalas said. "Angel has given us a lot and he is giving us a lot. Any player is always a big loss. We have faith that he will stay with us in the end."

Bordalas' comments contrast with what his president, Angel Torres said. Torres suggested the club would be willing to negotiate with Barça for a player who has a 10 million euro release clause.

Meanwhile, Molina added: "Angel's a really important player for because of everything he gives us. He is a Getafe player and we hope that remains the case."
