Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan have teamed up together for the first time and it looks like the duo's impeccable chemistry which has been the talk of the town since the trailer's release has helped their film start on a good note. Their film 'Love Aaj Kal' which released today is reported to have a good opening of around 20-25% which is pretty much similar to Ajay Devgn's 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' which has been the most successful film of the year.

According to the latest Box Office India report, the occupancy of Imtiaz Ali's romantic drama has been on the higher side of popular theatre chains as compared to 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior'. The report further suggests that the opening has come due to Valentines Day which is a good release date for youth romantic films.

The box office report also suggested that 'Love Aaj Kal' will turn out to be Kartik's best opening film in the domestic circuit which would also mark the first film to surpass the 10 crore mark from an actor from the younger generation. With Valentines Day helping Sara and Kartik's romantic drama excel on the opening day, the trouble that the film may face is for how far can it hold on to the momentum. With Imtiaz's film limited audience, it remains to be seen how this one goes and if the report is to be believed then 'Love Aaj Kal' will have the best opening in Delhi.

Talking about his co-star Sara in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Kartik revealed how he feels about being her crush. He said, "All I can say is that she's always been that confident girl, who's always spoken whatever has come to heart. She doesn't hide things and I really appreciate that. That is something a lot of people don't have. And Sara is someone who really doesn't hide anything, there's nothing to hide. So, I was amazed by her confidence and that day I was also intrigued and told. I thought that I should work with if there's an opportunity. And it happened when Imtiaz Ali sir decided it one fine day."

'Love Aaj Kal' also stars Randeep Hooda and Aarushi Sharma in supporting roles and it will be facing tough competition from Joaquin Phoenix's 'Joker' which will be re-releasing in India after winning the Oscars.
