Emilio Estevez to Reprise Coach Gordon Bombay in New 'Mighty Ducks' Series

“Once a Duck, always a Duck!”

Variety has just reported that Emilio Estevez will reprise his role as coach Gordon Bombay for the upcoming The Mighty Ducks series coming to the Disney Plus streaming service.

The new series will follow a similar storyline as the ’90s classic film, following a ragtag group of junior hockey players as they play their way to the top as the underdogs. Estevez announced his return by saying “Once a Duck, always a Duck! After 25 years, I am delighted to lace up my skates, put on Coach Bombay’s jacket and return to play the iconic character for this new chapter in The Mighty Ducks franchise. Likewise, I am thrilled to return to my old stomping grounds with my friends at Disney and Steve Brill, the original creator of the franchise, to join them on their exciting new platform, Disney Plus.”

Those who grew up in the ’90s will not want to miss this nostalgic series.
