The Chase hopeful branded 'worst contestant' as he only gets two questions right

by

The Chase viewers were left in hysterics after a hopeful contestant was booted off the show after only answering two questions correctly.

Budding actor Alex told the host, Bradley Walsh, how he hoped to win big so that he could take himself to The Neighbours set in Australia.

However, after the cash builder round, the star had only racked up £1000, which he joked was ‘a lot for a student’.

Turning to his team, he laughed: ‘That wasn’t very good, was it? I don’t know why I came on this show.

‘Well you know, we have it all to play for still, I really apologise, I do. I didn’t know any of them!’

Joking with the contestant, Bradley said: ‘Don’t apologise to them, they’re not bothered.’

To which Alex smouldered: ‘That’s not very nice Bradley, you’re supposed to build me up, I thought you were nice to contestants.’

The pair quickly made up with Alex asking his new bestie Brad for a pint.

Alex then took on Paul Sinha, who joked his appearance on the show was a marketing tactic for his work at the Edinburgh Fringe.

The Chaser then offered him £1, £1000, and for the highest offer £20,000.

His team asked him to come back with the £1, while other members joked he was nervous and asked for him to get the £1000.

However, after aiming for the middle sum, the hopeful was soon kicked off the show when the Sinnerman beat him.

I’ll see you again, I don’t know where, I don’t know when, but I will see you again,’ Bradley said as he made his exit.

‘We usually bring someone back for the bloopers special don’t we?’ Paul teased as he walked off the stage, before Alex laughed: ‘I do apologise, I need a lie down.’

But while he might have been unlucky on the show, it seems fans absolutely loved him as they were giggling away while watching.

‘Alex….. my favourite contestant EVER,’ one wrote while another added: ‘Alex didn’t get far on here but I bet he’s snapped up somewhere with his carefree attitude and wit.’

Someone else said: ‘Alex must have really let his nerves get to him on #TheChase. That may have been one of the worst performances on the show for a long time.’

The Chase continues weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
