Manchester United still working on last minute transfer deadline day signing
The latest Man Utd news on transfer deadline day as the club continue to try and bring a striker into Old Trafford before 11pm deadline
by Charlotte Duncker, https://www.facebook.com/CharlotteDunckerMEN/Manchester United are still working on a last minute deal to get a striker to the club on loan, the MEN understands.
The club had enquired about Bournemouth striker Josh King but negotiations between the two clubs stalled over price and the former academy product is unlikely to be making a move back to Old Trafford.
However, it is understood that with just over five hours left of the window the club are still working on trying to get another deal sorted and there is a possibility Odion Igahlo is one of the forwards they are looking at ahead of the 11pm deadline.
The former Watford striker left the Premier League three years ago to move to China where he has been playing with Shanghai Greenland Shenhua and the club are working on a last minute deal for the 30-year-old although it is understood negotiations are difficult so it's possible a deal won't be agreed before 11pm.
Solskjaer was asked about transfers in his pre-Watford press conference on Friday morning and told fans and reporters not to expect any incomings.
"I don't think we will do anymore business, no. I don't think so," he said.
United have been exploring the possibility of a loan deal for a striker following the injury to Marcus Rashford. The club let their leading goalscorer Romelu Lukaku in the summer and did not replace the Belgium international instead deciding to promote Mason Greenwood and give the teenager more playing time.
The transfer window closes at 11pm on Friday.
