‘Death of Rose’ Looks to Offer Story-Driven Horror Experience

by

Indie dev Artur Łączkowski has something for you this February if you’re looking for a story-driven horror thriller. Death of Rose (which you can find on Steam) is the first instalment of a “unique horror experience”, focusing on the relationship between two friends that just so happens to involve exploring an abandoned school.

Scott lives to learn and preserve the stories of abandoned buildings, with his best friend, Beth, accompanying him. One such building has Scott exploring the aforementioned school that was also the site of worship for an occult sect. As these things go, as Scott pieces together the cult’s history, something within the school awakens. Now, Scott and Beth must rely on each other in order to survive the night while unraveling the secrets within the school.

Featuring a script with over 200 pages of dialogue, the game relies on said dialogue to reveal the story, with each dialogue option playing out differently. And because hey, it’s the smart thing to do, the game throws in a few Resident Evil references, including the game’s graphics mimicking the style found in the more recent RE games.

The game will be available on Steam on February 20th, but you can wishlist it right now. While you’re at it, check out the trailer below.
