Former teacher, coach charged with sexual assault

On January 27, 2020, as a result of an investigation, a 31-year-old Kitchener male was charged with Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference regarding an incident that occurred on January 24, 2020.
The male was a teacher with the Waterloo Region District School Board, and also served as a basketball coach with the Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Basketball Association.
Liam Phipps is scheduled to appear in court on March 11, 2020.
