 Police Order Nelson Chamisa To Join Mnangagwa’s Clean-Up Campaign

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has turned down a request by the opposition MDC Alliance party to have a clean campaign in the dormitory town of Chitungwiza. The ZRP actually deployed police officers to stop the campaign launch which was supposed to be held today.

The Nelson Chamisa led MDC Alliance wanted to carry out their own Clean Up exercise on Saturday, a day after the national clean-up campaign led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Instead, the police said the MDC should join Mnngagwa’s Clean-Up Campaign scheduled for Friday next week.

Below is the letter by the police denying the MDC Alliance permission to have their own cleanup. For some reason, the number 3 is missing from the letter.
