Dua Lipa's New Music Video for "Physical" Is a Psychedelic Anime Adventure

A new Dua Lipa era is finally underway.

The British pop singer released a new visual for her single "Physical" today and it's a total technicolor dance dream—a fitting match for her high-energy, '80s inspired track. "Physical" is the latest single from Lipa's upcoming album Future Nostalgia set to release April 3rd. According to Rolling Stone, the visual for the track was produced by Canada, a production team that's worked with the likes of Rosalía on show stopping videos.

The video finds Lipa dancing her way through multiple, multicolored stage sets while incorporating moments of anime-inspired animation. Lipa rocks her unique platinum blonde and brunette wavy bob while donning a glittery, smoky eye look.

"It's definitely my craziest of high energy songs," the singer told Billboard while walking the Grammy Awards red carpet last weekend. She also described the video as "quite Flashdance-y" which we think is a perfectly accurate illustration of the high power video.

Lipa has also remained outspoken about championing and promoting women in the music industry. When asked who she was rooting for to win Best New Artist at the Grammys—the category she had won the year prior—she quipped she was simply proud to see multiple women nominated for the illustrious award.

"What I'm really happy about is how many women have been nominated in that category again,” Lipa told Billboard. “We can only hope to see more and more of that as the years go by.”
