Aston Villa could be set for a frustrating end to the January transfer window, despite signing three players this month.

Danny Drinkwater and Pepe Reina have both arrived on loan - whilst striker Mbwana Samatta signed a permanent deal, arriving from Genk last week.

Villa boss Dean Smith has made his desire to sign another forward clear, with the injury to Wesley Moraes leaving only Samatta and Keinan Davis as senior options.

A whole host of names have been linked with only hours until the deadline, Smith may have to settle for what he already has at his disposal for the battle against relegation.

One player who has been linked is Serhou Guirassy, the Amiens forward has four goals in 16 appearances this season and has reportedly caught the attention of a number of Premier League clubs.

As well as Villa, West Ham and Brighton have been credited with an interest - but L'Equipe ( via GFFN) have reported he is set to stay with the French club until the summer

The report suggests that he has rejected a loan offer from Villa earlier this week with him preferring to see out the season with Amiens.
