Manchester United 'cool interest in Bournemouth striker Joshua King'

Manchester United have reportedly cooled their interest in Bournemouth striker Joshua King.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side made a surprise £20m bid for the Norwegian forward on deadline day, only to see that offer rejected.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe refused to rule out the possibility of King leaving the club earlier today, suggesting that a return to Old Trafford, where King featured under Solskjaer for United's reserve side, would be of interest to the player.

However, Sky Sports News reports that the Red Devils have now switched their attention to other targets in their pursuit of a striker before tonight's 11pm deadline.

Solskjaer is thought to have held a late transfer meeting with members of the club's hierarchy to go through possible options, including former Watford striker Odion Ighalo.

United are desperate to bolster their attacking line after losing Marcus Rashford to injury, leaving Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood as their only centre-forward choices.
