Nuno says Wolves duo Willy Boly and Diogo Jota fit enough to start at Manchester United

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo says defender Willy Boly and attacker Diogo Jota are fit enough to start against Manchester United.

Boly (ankle) and Jota (calf) returned to the bench for the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on January 23.

Now after a week on the training pitch the duo are in contention to feature from the start at Old Trafford.

He said: "Yes (they are both fit enough to start against Manchester United.)

"Last week they were options, now they are ready.

"It is good to have them back."

Jota replaced Pedro Neto off the bench in that Liverpool defeat as he made his first appearance since picking up a dead leg at Watford on New Year's Day.

Boly is fighting it out with midfielders Leander Dendoncker and Romain Saiss to join Conor Coady in the back three and make his first appearance since breaking his fibula in October.

And Nuno was pleased with how his side handled his absence. 

He said: "I was happy (with what I saw when Boly was out of the team).

"I think we performed well under the circumstances, we performed really well.

"(Willy) is an important player but during his absence we have been able to find solutions.

"Having him back gave us one more solution for what we want for the future."

That Boly return paved the way for Ryan Bennett to move to Leicester with new attacker Daniel Podence in contention to make his debut at Old Trafford.

He is not the only Portuguese ace who could make his debut on Saturday as Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes is set to make his bow in midfield.

And Nuno warned his fellow countryman that it is a tough league when he was asked if he was suited to the division.

He said: "It is a tough league.

"He's a very good player."

United beat Wolves 1-0 at their home base in their FA Cup third round replay earlier this month.And Nuno wants his side to be more clinical this time around.

He said: "Like all the games, we analyse the same.

"We perform well and we go from there to try and improve, rectify the mistakes we made.

"Try to be more clinical in some moments.

"But we have to compete and play good because we are going to play a very good team.

"(It will be a) tough game.

"Going to Old Trafford is always difficult and we are going to face a very tough opponent.

"We are ready and we have to compete well."

Wolves are level on points with fifth-placed United going into this clash.

But Nuno is just focused on the game, not the potential of leapfrogging their opponents.

He said: "I think only about tomorrow, tomorrow we play and compete."

After this trip to United Wolves will have a two-week break until they host Leicester on February 14.

And Nuno says his players will be jetting off for another warm-weather training camp in Spain.

 He said: "We finish the game, we rest and we travel to Spain for a training session camp.

"I think it is a good chance, we have been doing it a lot of times in the previous season also it went well, so we will repeat."
