A woman could go on trial in the summer accused of attempted murder after police were called to reports of smoke emanating from a lit disposable barbecue within a property.

Lisa Walmsley, 50, appeared before a judge at Manchester Crown Court for a brief hearing.

She spoke to confirm her name, date of birth and that she is 'white British'.

No pleas were entered. A trial date was set for June 29 by Judge Alan Conrad QC.

Police and firefighters were called to a house on Radnormere Drive in Cheadle Hulme at around 12.40am on January 2, to reports of 'smoke emanating from a lit disposable barbecue within the property', GMP said previously.

No one was injured.

Ms Walmsley, of Radnormere Drive, Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, was remanded in custody.
