Coronavirus Emergency: Indian Army Sets Up Quarantine Facility In Haryana For Indians Returning From China

A quarantine facility has been created by Indian Army near Manesar, Haryana which will house approximately 300 Indians who will be arriving from Wuhan amid the outbreak of the coronavirus, reports News18.

Here, a qualified team of doctors and staff members will monitor the incoming Indians for signs of infection for two weeks.

Notably, a specially-prepped Air India Boeing 747 took off from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Friday (31 January) morning to bring back Indians stranded in Wuhan.

Five doctors from the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi are on-board the plane along with an Air India paramedic. It is expected to will reach Wuhan in about six hours and will spend two to three hours there before returning at 2 am Saturday.

As per reports, five new cases of suspected Coronavirus were detected in Delhi and the patients were admitted to RML Hospital.

Earlier, World Health Organisation declared an International Public Health Emergency (PHEIC) over the novel Coronavirus outbreak, that originated from China and has spread to around 18 countries.

The declaration came as the death toll across China due to the Coronavirus outbreak reached 213, with at least 42 new deaths reported from the most affected Central Chinese province of Hubei.
