Motherwell have accepted a bid of £1.5m for James Scott from Hull City.

Bristol City had been linked with the Scotland under-21s striker earlier in the transfer window as the Robins looked to bolster their attack.

The Robins have now signed Nahki Wells, but Hull look set to lose Jarrod Bowen to the Premier League, with another attacker, Kamil Grosicki having already moved to West Brom earlier today.

It has left Hull short on attackers, despite signing Marcus Maddison from Peterborough United, who was another player briefly linked with the Robins.

The BBC have reported that Hull have had a £1.5m bid for Scott, having had a £750,000 move for him rejected yesterday.

Hull's bid has been structured as £1m up front, with another £500,000 in add-ons.

Scott has netted six goals in 28 appearances so far this season for Motherwell, who sit third in the Scottish Premiership.

Speaking to STV, Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson confirmed there was interest in the player.

He said: "It’s a difficult one, because you have to be fair to everybody. We sell ourselves on developing young players and selling them.

"We do it terrifically well. If you hold them back from life-changing money, it’s very difficult to keep players happy.

"There has to be a parameter that works for everybody – for the club for the right money and the player."
