Championship deadline headlines: West Ham hitch in Jarrod Bowen deal as Sheffield Wednesday make signing
An evening round-up on deadline day
by David ByromLatest on Jarrod Bowen
First it was Crystal Palace, then it was West Ham, but now it appears to be Newcastle United. Sort of.
The Athletic report that Jarrod Bowen wants to move to Newcastle instead of the Hammers... despite the fact the Magpies haven't even been in touch with Hull City over their star player.
Hull have agreed to sell Bowen to West Ham, and have even brought in replacements in the form of Marcus Maddison from Peterborough United and James Scott (potentially) from Motherwell.
Yet Bowen is said to want £60,000 a week, which West Ham are unwilling to meet.
Talks are continuing, but Bowen would prefer to stay in the North East.
Sheffield Wednesday complete deal
Sheffield Wednesday have signed Ryan Galvin from Wigan Athletic.
The Owls' third signing of the January window is unlikely to feature much for the first team this season.
Instead, he had a trial at Sheffield Wednesday, with the 19-year-old featuring in a defeat to Hull City reserves, and doing enough to earn a new deal.
Galvin can play left-back, and could well act as cover for the senior team.
West Brom deal stalls
Birmingham Live report that Nathan Ferguson's departure from West Brom is still expected to go through, despite his move to Crystal Palace stalling so far.
The highly-rated 19-year-old travelled to London to conduct a medical at Selhurst Park after the two clubs agreed a deal rising towards £11m.
It comes after Ferguson announced his intentions to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.
Palace have found a medical issue when assessing the defender, but the deal is still expect to happen.
