Streetsnaps: Beatrice Domond

The Supreme and Fucking Awesome team member on the intersection of style and skating.

Beatrice Domond is easygoing and charming, possessing an off-handed friendliness that translates to surefooted ease on the skateboard. However, Domond didn’t earn her position as the only woman sponsored by both Supreme and Fucking Awesome merely by being friendly. Domond’s remarkable skill earned the 25-year-old respect from two of the most influential skate labels around, along with a relentless determination to improve.

“You can ask any skater who skates for real: you wake up thinking about it, you go to sleep thinking about it,” Domond told The Wall Street Journal in 2018. “Don’t give up. I didn’t. Sometimes I felt bummed, but I’m addicted to this. It’s like I can’t stop doing it.”

Domond may be a rising skate star and burgeoning photographer, but she’s got clothing all figured out. “If you look good, you’re gonna skate good,” she tells HYPEBEAST.

“At least, when I have a fresh new shirt on, I’m gonna try to not fall — it keeps me on my board. And when you have the new fit, you wanna get a clip in the new fit, like, come on!” she adds.

When we caught up with Domond she was appropriately wearing goods from both of the brands she works with, including a Fucking Awesome sweater and a jacket from Supreme’s recent dead prez collaboration, accented by the Vans Sk8 Low, a comfortable model but not Domond’s favorite. “I love skating in the Vans Era,” she explains. “I don’t do a lot of hucking, I’m more of a technical skater, so [they help me] feel my board.”

There’s a couple personal trinkets in the mix as well. “The necklace was a gift I bought myself,” notes Domond. “This ring I’ve had since I was a child — my mother gave it to me. This [other] ring I got once I had a little bit of money. So it’s like… humble and flashy,” she laughs.
