F9 Trailer: Cena's Character Revealed, and a Complete Mind-F--k Of A Return

by

The first full trailer for F9, the ninth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise has arrived, and it introduces John Cena as the newest addition to the "Fast Saga" as Dominic Torreto's brother, Jacob. Plus, we also get the return of Han!

A teaser trailer was released earlier in the week that focused on Dominic Toretto's new family with his son, Brian, and Letty. However, there was an ominous tone that appeared to tease a potential death for one of the family members.

The official synopsis can be found below:

No matter how fast you are, no one outruns their past.

Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, next year’s The Suicide Squad).

F9 will be helmed by Justin Lin, who directed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth entries in the Fast & Furious franchise. It stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel and Sung Kang. John Cena, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Cardi B, and Ozuna are also set to appear. Fast & Furious 9 is slated to release May 22.
