We honestly think This Morning's Spin To Win game might be cursed

by

It’s time to start asking some serious questions, guys – is This Morning cursed?

After yesterday’s disastrous game of Spin To Win where one viewer swore live-on-air, we’re sure that Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford were confident that they could steer this consistently chaotic game into calmer waters today.

How wrong they were!

Things got off to a bad start when the first caller – who the married couple called Louise – didn’t answer the phone with the correct password, so she was instantly cut off due to the rules of the game.

But it was the next contestant that rang in that made Eamonn and Ruth realise that they had made a mistake. Her name was Rebecca, not the first caller.

‘You can explain that one!’ Eamonn said in mock outrage as he pretended to walk off the set, leaving Ruth to placate the lovely caller who had accidentally had her identity stolen.

‘Although [the producers] told us they rang Victoria, they actually rang Lisa,’ Eamonn explained. ‘So the woman we called Victoria wasn’t Victoria. But the person we are talking to now really is Victoria.’

And despite the blunder, the lucky caller ended up walking away with a lovely holiday to the Caribbean of Antigua.

Always a silver lining, eh?

The gaffe may have sent Ruth into a fit of giggles but this isn’t the first time that Spin To Win has gone dramatically wrong live on air.

Just yesterday, Holly and Phil were fronting the game when another hapless viewer didn’t answer with the password, meaning her call got cut off too.

There was a bit of a delay, however, so those watching at home could hear the poor woman mumble a ‘bloody hell’ before the duo hung up.

‘So sorry,’ Phil offered to those watching at home, clearly trying not to laugh at the whole thing.

And to many This Morning viewers, the segment has already gone down in history as must-watch car crash TV. You truly never know what’s going to happen.

Earlier this week, a call to a potential contestant reached their voicemail so Holly, Phil and Alison Hammond left a rather savage message.

And in another early classic, one viewer did win on the game…but a holiday to the place where she already lives.

See what we mean about cursed?

This Morning continues weekdays from 10am on ITV
