by

Kiambu Woman Representative  Gathoni wa Muchomba stunned a crowd on Friday, January 31, with details of her cold relationship with former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.

While delivering her speech during new Kiambu Governor James Nyoro's swearing-in ceremony, she stated that Waititu's style of leadership was not at all pleasant.

She went on to give an example of an instance the former governor took her to a toilet for a meeting.

"Shortly after Waititu was elected, I went to his office to talk to him about the alcohol menace in Kiambu County, however, he dragged to a toilet. I was shocked and asked him why he had taken me to a toilet and if he had an agenda that he had not informed me of," she narrated.

The woman rep expressed gratitude to the MCAs for having impeached the governor as well, alleging that he had made several attempts to end her life.

"He refused my advice to have an orderly office. Confusion creates an opportunity for wickedness. He had even sent goons to come after me at night,” she stated.

In addition, Wamuchomba advised the newly appointed governor to work and unite with Kiambu residents to achieve a common goal.

"I remember when things got tough in the office and I advised you not to resign, now you have the power and whatever you wanted to do in this county, with your doctorate degree, do it now and we will support you 100 per cent," she concluded.

Nominated MP Maina Kamanda also spoke at the ceremony where he revealed that Waititu had borrowed Ksh1 million to fund his campaign in 2017.

The legislator expressed his shock at learning that upon being elected governor, the ousted county boss bought houses in Nairobi, including a mansion in Runda.

"During the campaigns, that man used to come to me to borrow Ksh1 million, promising he will return it.

"Now he has bought five houses in Nairobi, including one in Runda. He lacks respect.

"Even stealing needs intelligence. This man did not have even a little intelligence," he tore into Waititu.

Kamanda further thanked Kiambu County Assembly MCAs for initiating impeachment proceedings against Waititu.

He disclosed that he had been to several strategy meetings with the MCAs.
