1. Go wild for wildlife

Grab the kids and head over to the German Cultural Centre on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for a Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Saskatchewan fundraiser, where you can learn about and interact with live wildlife. Other fun activities like face painting, juggling and science experiments will also be available. Admission costs $5 per child or $20 for families.

2. Super Bowl party

If you’re planning to watch the Super Bowl, why not also enjoy it with a free plate of nachos? The Capitol Music Club will show the game on big screens with door prizes, cheap wings and free nachos if you purchase a bucket of Corona. To guarantee a spot, call ahead to reserve a table.

3. Musical open house

If you want to learn a new instrument but are unsure where to start, head by the Saskatoon Academy of Music between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday. During their winter open house, you have the opportunity to try out the instruments, enjoy some treats and learn more about the organization’s lessons and programs.

4. Board game café

Find your new favourite board game this Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alice Turner Library, as the Library of Things and Saskatoon Public Library host a pop-up board game café. Not only can you try out some new games and enjoy a variety of refreshments, but if you just can’t stop playing, you also have the opportunity to borrow the game for free.

5. Drag Bingo

Enjoy a night of Drag Bingo during the Nutrien Wintershines Festival. Hosted by Saskatoon Pride at the former Farmer’s Market location on Avenue B on Friday night from 9 p.m. to midnight, the 19+ event will be hosted by Lilith Blackwood, Mia Beretta and Cheryl Trade. Entrance to the event is by donation; each bingo sheet costs $2.
