Synchronized interfaith moment of prayer to be held on Feb. 6

The nationwide synchronized interfaith moment of prayer will be held on Feb. 6, Thursday, at exactly 12 noon, said PasaLord Prayer Movement founder, Mrs. Lourdes “Bing” Pimentel, wife of the late Senate President Aquilino Pimentel, Jr. and Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.

“Pray wherever you are. It won’t take long, just a minute of your time to say the interfaith Prayer for Peace in the Philippines,” Pimentel said.

The prayer in English, Filipino, Cebuano, and Hiligaynon can be downloaded from www.pasalord.org or Facebook at PasaLordMovement.

Last year, the Senate, through Resolution No. 1002, declared every first Thursday of February as “Synchronized Interfaith National Prayer for Peace and Reconciliation Day” to “encourage and persuade all Filipinos of any religion to actively participate in reciting the Prayer for Peace in the Philippines.”

The interfaith nationwide prayer, started by the PasaLord Prayer Movement in 2017, seeks to unite Filipinos of various creeds and denomination to pray for peace and reconciliation in the Philippines.

Among those who have signified their support for the synchronized prayer are the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC), the Imam Council of the Philippines, the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), and the Campus Crusade for Christ.
Bishop Noel Pantoja, national director of the PCEC, said, he would call on their 40,000 churches to join the synchronized prayer.

For his part, CBCP president Davao Archbishop Romulo G. Valles has endorsed the interfaith synchronized prayer activity to Catholic Church leaders.

Dr. Christopher Uy, Campus Crusade for Christ area team leader for Southeast Asia, said they are in full support of the synchronized prayer, as is Imam Ebra Moxsir, president of the Imam Council of the Philippines.

Several other organizations have likewise expressed support for the synchronized prayer activity on Feb. 6.

Mrs. Pimentel said prayer requests may also be sent by email or text. Prayer petitions can be emailed to praying4u@pasalord.org. or by text to 09773592405 or 09087528147.

“People need to know that there’s somebody praying for them and praying with them for their intentions. We will lift your prayers to the Lord. Let us pass to the Lord all our problems. There is no need to sign your name. The Lord knows who you are,” Pimentel said.
