David Moyes comments on reported West Ham target Jarrod Bowen

by

David Moyes has delivered a positive verdict on Hull City attacker Jarrod Bowen, who could reportedly complete a deadline day move to West Ham.

According to Sky Sports, the 23-year-old has traveled to London today (Friday) to have a medical ahead of a switch to the London Stadium.

The report explains that a deal has been agreed with an initial £18million payment with up to £7million in potential add-ons, while personal terms have also been reached.

It is understood that he will need to complete his medical with the Hammers and then they will have beaten Crystal Palace to his signature.

Moyes has confirmed that West Ham are looking to wrap up the Bowen signing and believes he could make the step up from Championship side Hull to the Premier League with them.

“Yes, we’re interested in him. I hope that it could get concluded but I’d be jumping the gun if I said it was done at this moment in time,” Moyes said, as quoted by the club’s official website.

“I think he could be a big success. I think if you score goals in the numbers he does in the Championship, it gives you a great chance of doing so in the Premier League, but as well we know it’s a step up.”

TBR’s View:

Moyes is insisting that contrary to reports there is still work to be done to get a deal for Bowen over the line, but it seems positive is that he’s prepared to name him as a target.

He’s scored 17 goals in just 32 matches across all competitions this campaign and he looks far too good to remain in the Championship any longer.

West Ham need to ensure they complete the transfer for him, as he should inject an extra goal threat for them and the right-winger will soar in valuation if he can replicate his goalscoring form in the Premier League.
