A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 7 for Barry Kay.

The longtime Wilfrid Laurier University political science professor passed away in December.

It will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Keffer Chapel at Martin Luther University College.

Laurier says all are welcome to attend and share their favourite memories, moments and stories.

Dr. Kay, a respected scholar and media commentator on politics at both the federal and provincial levels, authored or co-authored more than 40 academic articles and book chapters.

He was also an active member of the Laurier Institute for the Study of Public Opinion and Policy (LISPOP) and developed a widely consulted seat-projection model based on electoral data and polls.

Prior to his arrival at Laurier in 1978, Kay taught at the University of Windsor and the University of Saskatchewan.
