Saraswati Idol Immersion: Two feared drown in River Dhansiri in Bokajan
Bokajan: In a tragic unfortunate incident, at least two youths are feared to have drowned during the immersion of Goddess Saraswati in river Dhansiri at Bokajan in East Karbi Anglong on Friday.
The incident occurred when a group of people from the Lahorijan area along Assam Nagaland border arrived to immerse the idol of Goddess Saraswati in the river and were swept away by the string downstream current of water. The deceased have been identified as Lakhsmikank Yadav of Lahorijan and Rohit Sharma of Dimapur, Nagaland.
Meanwhile, Police with the help of locals and fishermen have launched a search operation to fish out dead bodies but to no avail.
The search operation will continue till midnight.
