Cape Town City have parted ways with two of their wingers, while they are still hopeful to push for Aubrey Ngoma’s signature.

It has been revealed that both Mark Mayambela and Riyaad Norodien have left the club this week week, with the Citizens freshening up their squad a little for the second half of the season.

Mayambela joined the Citizens in October last year, making just seven appearances before leaving this month after falling out of favour following Benni McCarthy’s exit.

Norodien on the other hand, joined City from Orlando Pirates in July 2018, making 32 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens.

However, while there are now two less wingers on their books, the Citizens are still trying to push for a move for Aubrey Ngoma.

The Mother City-based club had their bid rejected for the 30-year-old in the July/August transfer window last year, but have not given up on bringing their former player back to the club.

Ngoma, who’s struggled for game-time at Mamelodi Sundowns ever since joining in January 2018, has in fact experienced his best form while on the books of the Citizens.

Before making the move to Sundowns from City, Ngoma experienced his best football form, particularly in the 2016/17 campaign, where he came just short of being named the Footballer of the Season.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the Citizens will be successful in landing their man, with the transfer window closing shut at midnight.
