Francisco Trincao has completed a move to reigning Spanish champions Barcelona from Portuguese club FC Braga where he has been impressive this season.

Barcelona chiefs and Braga agreed deal of €31m for the transfer move, but the the Catalan giants will have to wait until the end of the season before Trincao joins them.

The two clubs agreed a five-year deal for the 20-year-old Portuguese forward in which Barcelona slapped massive €500m transfer clause on him.

This season, Francisco Trincao has played 22 games for Braga scoring three goals and has also provided six assists for the Portuguese side.

Barcelona have been looking for a long term replacement for Luis Suarez who is currently injured and as it stands, Trincao has the chance to replace the former Liverpool striker.

Barcelona are currently occupying second position on the Spanish La Liga standings with 43 points and they are three points behind leaders Real Madrid.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how reigning Spanish champions Barcelona have qualified for the quarterfinal of this season's Copa Del Rey after beating Leganes 5-0 at Camp Nou on Thursday night, January 30.

Barcelona refused to give Leganes any chance in the first half with the duo of Ansu Fati and Sergio Busquets controlling the midfield superbly for the Catalan giants.

The hosts scored their first goal in fourth minute through France international Antoine Griezmann who powered in a superb strike sending goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar the wrong way.

Catalans had another chance to score the second goal in the 8th minute when Lionel Messi delivered a brilliant assist for Nelson Semedo, but his shot went wide.
