IGP: Police know where Riduan is

SEPANG: The police have information on the whereabouts of K. Pathmanathan, the ex-husband of kindergarten teacher M. Indira Gandhi, who has been missing with their daughter for the past 11 years.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said the police knew where he was, and urged him to come forward.

“As the IGP, I care about this case, and I’m working to make both sides meet, have their issues resolved and ensure that the welfare of the children is taken care of.

“I know where he (Indira’s ex-husband) is, so come forward and let’s resolve this, and he can remain in the country where the children will receive complete education. Don’t hide anymore,” he said.

It was reported on Monday that Indira was suing Hamid for RM100 million, claiming that he failed to locate and return her daughter Prasana Diksa, who is with her ex-husband.

Pathmanathan, now known as Muhammad Riduan Abdullah, took Prasana away after unilaterally converting all their three children to Islam in 2009. Prasana was just 11 months old then.

On Jan 29, 2018, the Federal Court ruled that the unilateral conversion of their three children by Riduan, a Muslim convert, as null and void.

In a 99-page judgment read out by Federal Court judge Tan Sri Zainun Ali, the court ruled that the consent of both parents was needed to convert a minor.

Hamid said that it was Indira’s right to take legal action against him, adding that he would remain focused on his duty.

“I chose to take a discrete approach, but I’m doing my job. I cannot say that (I will get him back) in one month or two months, so just be patient,” he said.
