Probability of Brighton signing striker is ‘very weak’ – Player ‘doesn’t urgently want to leave’

Despite insistence from members of the English media that Serhou Guirassy was on his way to Brighton & Hove Albion, the stance from France is quite different.

The 23-year-old is said to have received a number of offers from England over the past few days, including one from Aston Villa on a loan with a view to buy.

However, that doesn’t appear to have gone anywhere, and Brighton were the latest to have come forward with a similar deal, but, once again, it seems they keep getting rejected by the player.

Bournemouth and West Ham also asked for information, but L’Equipe seem certain that ‘none of them are expected to tie up’ a deal for the former France U20 international.

Guirassy ‘doesn’t urgently want to leave’ and would rather finish his season with the Ligue 1 side, meaning that the probability of him leaving France by the end of the day is ‘very weak’.

That means Graham Potter will need to find someone else if he wants to bolster his attack before 11pm tonight.
