Bungling burglar is caught on CCTV falling over a garden fence into a flower bed before smashing a window and stealing hundreds of pounds

A clumsy burglar was caught on camera tumbling over a garden fence and landing in a flower bed before breaking into a house. 

The well-dressed suspect can be seen on security cameras landing head-first into the dirt after crashing over a garden fence in Hall Green, Birmingham.

Footage shows the man, dressed in a smart black coat, stumble up from the flower bed before making his way towards the property on Stratford Road at 1.10pm on November 16 last year.

The suspect eventually climbs out of the dirt and makes his way over to the property in Hall Green

Despite the hilarious entrance, the crook went onto smash a window to get inside before escaping with hundreds of pounds in cash and other items.

West Midlands Police has now released the footage in a bid to track down the suspect and have urged anyone with information to get in touch.

A force spokesperson said: 'Do you recognise him?

West Midlands Police posted the CCTV footage on Facebook where he was dubbed the 'best dressed burglar' 

'To remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, tell them what you know, not who you are. Please quote crime reference 20BE/271016N/19.'

People took to social media to mock the burglar after West Midlands Police shared the footage on Facebook.

Bob Ballantyne said: 'Hopefully he's going to take another fall and a trip to HMP.'   

'It's only a matter of time before he's caught what a mug,' Michael Duffy added. 

Steven Lee commented: 'That's probably the best dressed burglar I've ever seen.'
