If you have any Irish language memorabilia get in touch with Cuisle
by Robert McMillenA YOUNG Belfast woman Cuisle Nic Liam is working on a vital heritage project - and she is looking for your help.
Cultural Transformation and Conradh na Gaeilge project focuses on the diverse history of The Gaelic League and on the Irish language in Ulster, which Dr. Eamon Phoenix spoke about in a wonderful talk at PRONI last Thursday, organised by an Conradh.
“As part of the project, we are trying to gather historical documents, anything from the end of the 19th century to the present day, be they from people’s personal collections or documents or letters that have been passed on from family members,” says Cuisle.
“We would hope to digitise this material for our new online archive which is currently being built so I would be extremely grateful if you could point anyone with anything that would be beneficial to the project in my direction so can give their own personal account of the League’s fascinating history,” she says.
If you would like to find out more about the project or if perhaps you would like to organise an information session, you can contact Cuisle at cuisle@cnag.ie or by phone on 07851 024 581.
