Frank Lampard rules out Olivier Giroud exit and says Chelsea won't make any transfers

Frank Lampard has ruled out Olivier Giroud leaving Chelsea this January - and says the Blues won't be making any signings.

Giroud has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, and was linked with a move away this transfer window, with Serie A giants Lazio and Inter Milan both interested.

Tottenham emerged as shock suitors on deadline day, with Spurs boss Jose Mourinho keen to strengthen his front line following the injury to England international Harry Kane.

But Lampard has categorically ruled out the Frenchman leaving Chelsea, adding that no new faces will be coming through the door in South-West London either.

Lampard said: "We all know there has been interest, I've sat here at every press conference and said that. If it's right for Olivier, for myself and the club and he's been impeccable in that period.

"I've got huge respect for him as a player. The answer again is no, as in will he leave? No. He trained today. No ins and no outs."

Lampard wasn't able to make the mot of the transfer window in the summer due to Chelsea being banned from doing so.

But the former Derby manager is seemingly happy with the squad at his disposal and isn't looking to bring in new recruits at this time.

Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League, but a staggering 30 points behind champions elect Liverpool.
