Michael Owen makes Man Utd vs Wolves prediction ahead of Premier League clash

by

Michael Owen has predicted more woes for Manchester United when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men host Wolves on Saturday.

The Red Devils lost their last two Premier League matches, to Liverpool and Burnley, to leave them six points adrift of the top four places.

United did bounce back in the cup competitions with a 6-0 demolition of Tranmere in the FA Cup followed up with a 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the Carabao Cup - although it wasn't enough to see them through to the final.

The match will likely be a first sighting of new United signing Bruno Fernandes, who arrived from Sporting Lisbon for £46.6million earlier this week.

Wolves are equal on points with United and will prove a difficult, if familiar, opposition.

The two sides have already met each other three times this campaign, with the reverse fixture ending 1-1, their FA Cup meeting ending goalless before the replay was edged out by Juan Mata.

And former Liverpool striker Owen thinks that this match-up will be another tight game that will probably be a draw.

Owen told Betvictor: " Manchester United were very poor at home to Burnley in their last home league game and since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as permanent manager back in March, his side have lost more league games (12) than they have won (11). That is a worrying statistic for any United fan.

"Wolves have conceded the first goal in their last eight league games but there was little between these sides in the two recent FA Cup ties between the clubs and I don’t think we will see many goals at the weekend.

"One goal might be enough to split the sides, but I feel it will be a point apiece."
