Hull City clinch £1.5m deal for Motherwell’s James Scott
by Alan PottsMOTHERWELL have accepted a bid from Hull City for James Scott in a deal worth £1.5million.
SunSport revealed last night that Well chiefs turned down a £750,000 bid from the Tigers for the 19-year-old.
However, the English Championship outfit returned with an improved offer of around £1m, with add-ons, which saw Fir Park chief executive Alan Burrows agree to allow them to speak to Scott.
The attacker, who has netted six goals in 28 games this season, will now open talks with Grant McCann’s side and is expected to seal his exit from the Steelmen later today.
Hull are mid-table in England’s second tier but are hoping to make a late bid for the promotion play-offs.
Scott is the latest academy graduate to leave the club after Jake Hastie moved to Rangers last summer, with only injury denying David Turnbull a £3m switch to Celtic.
