Monster-Filled ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ Super Bowl Spot Features Return of John Krasinski’s Character [Video]
by Brad MiskaParamount Pictures is getting ahead of the Super Bowl with an early release for their “Big Game” TV spot for A Quiet Place Part II, which offers a bit of new footage from the post-apocalyptic thriller that heads out of the family’s safe space and into the even more dangerous world. The biggest reveal: John Krasinski‘s character returns on screen for a sequence that (obviously) takes place before the events of the first movie.
Speaking of, the studio also dropped a featurette from the behind the scenes of Krasinski’s sequel, which also brings upon the return of Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, reprising their roles from the 2018 film.
In that second video, the filmmakers and cast talk about leaving the path of safety and going into the unknown.
“[It’s] harrowing, terrifying, but at the core of it it’s a very human story,” says Blunt. “It definitely ratchets up the tension; you know they’re not safe.”
Meanwhile, Krasinski promises Part II will answer many of the questions audiences were asking following the first film.
Last we saw the Abbot family, the monsters were invading their home and Evelyn was ready for battle. The sequel picks up right after the events of A Quiet Place. Evelyn Abbott and her children Regan and Marcus, along with a new baby, must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.
We’ll head back to a quiet place on March 20, 2020.
