Botswana has registered its first case of Coronavirus on 30 January 2020.
The country's Health and Wellness Ministry said in a media release that the case was registered at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, upon arrival, using Ethiopian Airways from China.
The patient is in isolation and investigations are ongoing.
The ministry has advised those travelling to practice good hygiene and avoid affected and crowded places, to seek medical attention if experiencing fever, cough, difficulty in breathing and headache.
Passengers and crew have been urged to alert the authorities for prompt health care assistance if experiencing those symptoms and to make sure that they are screened at points of entry for early diagnosis and treatment.
The ministry will continue to monitor the situation closely in consultation with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and keep the public updated.
