by Julia LeeA new Final Fantasy 7 Remake trailer dropped and it’s full of the sorts of details we’ve all been waiting for.
This trailer fully revealed some of the models we saw from a previous demo leak, including Cloud’s attempt at cross-dressing, which appears to have a whole flashy dance number surrounding it. There’s also a high quality version of Nanaki, or Red XIII, the beloved teenage lion creature.
A swarm of other characters, like Shinra employees Professor Hojo, Scarlet, and Palmer, were also shown off in the trailer. More importantly, Reeve, the man who controls Cait Sith, was shown, though the wonky cat-robot was not.
The trailer also teases some of the new storylines coming to the game, including the Soldier 3rd class character, Roche. We still don’t know much about him outside of his name, but he apparently has a serious bone to pick with Cloud. Roche demands a rematch with Cloud, interrupting what seems to be Avalanche’s first mission with him, implying that they’ve met before.
Between seeing new summons in action like Leviathan and getting a glimpse at young Cloud and Tifa sitting under the stars together, the hype for the game has never been greater.
The song in the trailer is the game’s new theme song, “Hollow.” It’s composed by the legendary Nobuo Uematsu, with vocals by Yosh from the band Survive Said The Prophet.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake launches for PlayStation 4 on April 10. It originally was slated for a March 3 release, but has been delayed.
