Prankster Josh Pieters details how he tricked Katie Hopkins into picking up 'C**T' award

Katie Hopkins was duped into picking up a fake award in Prague and the YouTube trickster who pulled off the epic prank has revealed how he did it

YouTube prankster Josh Pieters has detailed how he managed to trick rent-a-gob Katie Hopkins into picking up a fake "C**T" award.

Last night - after Hopkins had her Twitter account suspended - Pieters revealed that ha had pulled of the prank by sharing a picture of himself posing up with the former Apprentice contestant as he handed her a trophy.

Behind them on a projector at the words "Campaign to Unify the Nation Trophy", with capital letters spelling out a certain swear word dramatically blown up.

He then shared a ten minute video of the epic ruse and has now spoken on how it took him and pal Archie Manners two and a half months and a 'large investment' to pull it off.

Speaking to Metro, Josh explained: "A huge amount of hard work goes into it.

"[Archie and I] both worked extremely, extremely hard on it. Like it didn’t just happen, there were flights, a dinner, hotels, Katie Hopkins, 10 actors, people on her flight, our flight, then camera people. ‘So many little details that we have to get right to make sure this works, and the writing of the speech, the way it came across and just so many things."

Revealing that the disgraced reality TV personality was none-the-wiser to the fake event, he added: "She had absolutely no idea. The con was the two to three hour dinner before her speech, where she genuinely believed she was in a room with 10 white racists."

In the video, Josh shared a string of the controversial tweets Katie has posted over the years, as well as clips of Katie airing her opinions.

He explains that the prank began months ago when he set up fake campaign group The Cape Town Collective For Freedom of Speech.

Josh says he emailed Katie and invited her to Prague to accept their made-up lifetime achievement award, dubbed the Campaign to Unify the Nation Trophy.

He says Katie was "delighted" to pick up the award.

In the video, Katie claps and cheers as Josh, giving a speech, congratulates her for "melting the ice caps" of the "snowflakes" in the UK.

Josh talks about the hatred Katie receives online, and calls her an "inspiration".

As Katie gets up to collect her award, the screen behind her is changed to reveal the C-word.

Giving a speech, Katie says she's had the "most fun" that she's had in a long time.

She adds: "I am not used to receiving awards, it is strange, and it's strange to hear nice things being said about yourself.

"You sit there and you think, 'Wait a minute, are they saying that about me?' Whereas normally it is an incoming deluge of fireballs coming my way so it's kind of an odd thing for that to be tipped on its head, but I really do appreciate it."

She then takes fire at a number of groups of people with a string of controversial comments.

On Thursday, Katie's Twitter account was suspended.

Now only one tweet remains visible on her account which she had often used to voice her controversial opinions.

Katie had retweeted a post that read: "If Katie Hopkins’ latest tweets on Stormzy don’t constitute incitement to racial hatred I really don’t know what does. She is a criminal. @Twitter needs to act..."
